Forex Market Hours: Sessions

Forex Market Hours is a watch face for Wear OS that shows the four main forex trading sessions - Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York - on your wrist: which are open now, when each one next opens or closes, and how busy the market is likely to be.

BEFORE YOU START

The session data comes from the Watcholate Watch Faces app. Install it on your phone from Google Play and keep its small watch app on your watch. It works the sessions out on the watch itself, with no internet connection and no account. Until it is installed, the face shows its layout without the live session data.

FOUR LAYOUTS

- Sessions (included): the four markets as open or closed markers, a liquidity meter, and your two complications
- Desk: every market in one table - open or closed, its trading hours in that market's own local time, and a countdown to its next open or close
- Terminal: what is active now and what opens next, each market with its own local time, and a twelve-step liquidity ladder
- Dashboard: a 24-hour chart of every session on your own clock, with a line that moves with the time, and a card for each market with a bar that fills as its session runs

Desk, Terminal and Dashboard are premium layouts. They unlock together with one in-app purchase in the Watcholate Watch Faces app on your phone, and stay unlocked on every watch signed in to the same Google account. Sessions is always included.

ON EVERY LAYOUT

- The time, large, with your UTC offset and your time-zone city beside it
- The date and the battery level
- A dotted world map behind the face
- Two complications you choose: heart rate and steps to start with, or any source your watch offers - including app shortcuts, shown with the app's own icon
- A 12-hour or 24-hour clock, your choice in Customize - each market's hours and its own local time follow it
- Daylight saving time handled automatically, for every market and for you

THE LIQUIDITY ESTIMATE

The liquidity reading is an estimate, not a live volume figure. It is worked out from which sessions are open and overlapping, weighted by each center's share of global forex turnover in the Bank for International Settlements' 2025 Triennial Survey. It peaks when London and New York overlap and reads low when the Asian sessions trade alone. The face shows no volume numbers, because no watch face can honestly show them.

GOOD TO KNOW

- Session hours, each in its own local time, Monday to Friday: Sydney 07:00-16:00, Tokyo 09:00-18:00, London 08:00-17:00, New York 08:00-17:00
- Public holidays are not taken into account
- For reference only - not financial advice and not a trading tool
- Always-on shows just the time and the date, to save battery
- Works on Wear OS 5 and later, including Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch
- Collects no data - the watch face itself contains no code

To add it: touch and hold your current watch face, swipe to the end, tap Add, and choose Forex Market Hours. To switch layouts or complications: touch and hold the face and tap Customize.
