Punutis: Herd Kinship

Punutis turns scattered cattle memories into a shared ancestry braid.

Keepers can add animals using names or descriptions, colours, markings, approximate birth years, ownership memories, pictures and voice notes. Every contribution keeps its source and confidence, so a remembered link stays visibly different from a certain one.

Build the village braid:

• Record animals with details that people can recognise
• Add parent memories without turning them into unquestioned facts
• Review conflicting dam or sire claims side by side
• Confirm when two descriptions refer to the same animal
• Reverse a mistaken merge while preserving its history

Before a proposed pairing, choose two animals. Punutis samples many pedigrees that fit the recorded evidence and gives one plain-language ancestry-risk sentence. Open the details to see the estimated band and why it is wide or narrow.

Unknown local ancestry makes the result more cautious. A missing parent is never silently treated as an unrelated animal. Punutis also describes the ancestry profile an outside animal should have to reduce expected relatedness over the next generations; it does not rank breeds, sellers or prices.

Nearby exchange lets participating keepers combine signed fragments over the same Wi-Fi or hotspot using a shared six-digit village code. Interrupted exchanges are safe to repeat. Reports preserve the audit trail, and a phone can be blocked from contributing future changes.

An optional app lock supports fingerprint or face unlock and a separate Punutis PIN. Local data can be removed at any time from Settings.

Punutis estimates ancestry from incomplete community records. It is not a certified pedigree service, veterinary diagnosis, fertility assessment, treatment recommendation or animal marketplace.
