In space, no one can hear you scream. On your wrist, they can read the time.
This watch face recreates the opening titles of Ridley Scott's 1979 classic. Across the middle of the dial, the word ALIEN builds itself one stroke at a time, exactly in the order of the film: first the I in the centre, then a leg of the A, the diagonal of the N, and on until the whole title stands complete. Each stroke fades up from deep space into the film's electric blue and then settles to white. When the word is whole it holds, fades away, and after a moment of empty sky the first stroke appears again.
The sequence follows the clock, not your wrist. Glance at your watch at any moment and the title is wherever that moment puts it — half-lettered, nearly whole, or complete — just as the opening of the film unfolds while the USCSS Nostromo drifts past in the dark.
Behind it all, a quiet field of stars drifts slowly across the screen.
Everything you need at a glance:
• A clean digital clock above the title, following your 12/24-hour setting
• Weekday and date beneath the title
• Battery level with a gauge
• Today's steps and your heart rate
• All readings in a pale green, the colour of a ship's terminal screen
• An optional step goal ring around the edge, filling as you walk
Make it yours: press and hold the watch face, tap Customize, and switch the step goal ring on or the background stars off. The ring is off and the stars are on to begin with.
In always-on mode the title and readings step aside, and only a dim clock stays lit, gently shifting position to protect your screen.
Made for fans of the Alien saga: Ellen Ripley, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation and its special order 937, the derelict on LV-426, the facehugger, the chestburster and the even the Xenomorph itself are all embued within. Whether you signed on with the Colonial Marines in Aliens, followed the Engineers in Prometheus, or caught Alien: Romulus, this is a watch face for anyone who still checks the motion tracker before turning a corner.
Requires Wear OS 5 or later.
Unofficial fan-made design; not affiliated with or endorsed by 20th Century Studios, The Walt Disney Company or any rights holder.
