As someone who already plays in an amateur orchestra and knows how to read sheet music on an intermediate level, I tried this app to see if I could use this to improve my skills and/or recommend it to other students. I can't. This app is a game designed for performance like Guitar Hero. It teaches you to read a rolling bar of notated melody and hit the right key on a virtual keyboard. IRL you read in your head from a static partiture and translate to your physical instrument.

only was able to play 3 songs and it froze on me. music still playing but just the games border design was shown.
I really like the game and can see how it helps people learn. My only gripe is that as a beginner with sheet music, I’m not very fast yet. The only options are practice mode, which shows the answer, or beginner mode, which forces a set pace. I wish there was a middle option where I could go at my own speed without being shown the answer so I can test myself. If that gets added, I could see myself playing all the time.

what education? tossing someone into the deep end with no explanation on how to actually read the notes is an absolutely terrible idea. this ain't for people who don't know how to read sheet music, it requires you know how to read sheet music to be able to play the game.
