"Learn Morse code, translate text with sound and flashlight, train your CW"

Về ứng dụng này

Learn Morse code, translate text to Morse and back, and train for CW. Hear it, see it, flash it with the flashlight or feel it as vibration, then practise until you can copy and send it at real speed. No account, no sign-up, and it works without a connection.

Morse code translator: type any text and get Morse with sound, an on-screen flash, the phone flashlight or vibration. Enter dots and dashes and read the text. Choose the speed and the tone, replay a message as often as you like and share it as an audio file.

Learn Morse code the way operators do, with the Koch method. Characters arrive at full target speed from the very first lesson, two to begin with and one more each time your accuracy is high enough. Slow character speed teaches you to count dits, and that habit takes years to unlearn. Farnsworth spacing keeps the early lessons manageable, and character speed and effective speed are yours to set independently, using the standard ARRL formula.

Most Morse apps teach you to receive. This one also teaches you to send. Practise on a straight key or an iambic paddle and get an objective report on what your fist actually looks like: your effective speed, your dah to dit weighting against the ideal of 3 to 1, how consistent your character and word spacing is, and exactly which characters came out wrong.

The confusion matrix is where plateaus break. It records every substitution you make, so you can see that your whole problem is four specific character pairs rather than a vague sense of being stuck.

Questions people ask

How do I learn Morse code fast? Learn it by sound, never by counting dots and dashes. Start with two characters at full speed, add a new one each time your accuracy is high enough, and practise a few minutes every day. That is the Koch method, and the app runs it for you.

What is the Koch method? It is a way of learning CW in which every character is played at the speed you will eventually use, so your ear learns the sound of the whole character instead of its parts.

Can I translate text to Morse code with the flashlight? Yes. Type a message, choose the speed and start the flashlight. The light is kept to a slow speed on purpose, and a short warning is shown before the first use.

Is it for amateur radio? It is built for it: CW speed, Farnsworth spacing, callsigns, Q-codes and QSO practice are all here. It works just as well if you only want to learn the Morse alphabet.

The timing formulas the app uses are published on the About screen, because you should be able to check them.

Excellent app for training morse and especially the configurable real wpm. I like the different ways to learn (Koch, numbers, callsigns, NATO, etc). edit: To developer: Thanks for pointing out the privacy screen, I overlooked the 'do not consent' button.
