Like the layout but not great on reliability. Has more of real newspaper feel than other news apps I've encountered, but seems to crash much more frequently than I would want when using its more elaborate features. For example, it just crashed after reading one article then starting to scroll the Top 100 Restaurant list.
Clean, well organized, easy to navigate and run through topics from national to local to international.
often freezes, have to restart and reload content. on Android tablet with latest OS. I like the Games page.
It doesn't update to the next day. pisses me off.
stops & starts has other issues too/so good try still 2 stars1
Good way to read Chronicle news stories even before they're in print. It would work better for me if I could select which topics popped up as push alerts - far too many I'm not interested in, unlike with the NYT and WaPo apps. The app has no dark mode - the screen background is always white, even in the middle of the night when my phone is darkened.
