User count of 1.8 million is determined as the number of unique email addresses in StartEngine's database as of 10-6-2023.

StartEngine is a decent way to put money in a startup, but you'd better do your due diligence and understand it's for the long haul. Fees are high. The membership is pretty much a scam unless the 10% bonus on shares purchased outweighs the cost of the membership. The promised secondary market is non existent for extended transactions. I've tried numerous sales over the years (buy and sell) and not one transaction has ever succeeded. Support can't do anything but cancel the sale in the end.
